World-Link Deploys MERA's Softswitch to Optimize Its Network Infrastructure
January 24, 2006
Toronto, ON, Canada — January 24, 2006 — MERA Systems, a forefront supplier of VoIP Softswitches and session controllers for efficient management of VoIP sessions, today announced that World-Link, Inc. has deployed the award-winning MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch (MVTS) on its VoIP network.
World-Link, a US-based international telecommunications company providing network and traffic management services for carriers, was looking for a flexible and robust solution to assure efficient control of their network and optimize its manageability. Furthermore, World-Link needed to interconnect its headquarters with remote SIP-based contact centers directly over IP links, without having to gateway into PSTN. To resolve these challenges, World-Link selected MVTS, a carrier-grade VoIP softswitch with intrinsic session control functionality. Deployed as the core softswitch of World-Link's VoIP network, MVTS aggregates retail and wholesale traffic from World-Link's partners, primarily in H.323 format, and handles SIP traffic between the company's headquarters and remote contact centers. MERA's MVTS performs intelligent routing of all calls going through the network, generates data for the billing system, ensures smooth interoperability of multi-vendor equipment and provides seamless H.323 and SIP traffic handling.
"We have decided on MVTS as an optimal VoIP solution in terms of price and quality. It allows a considerable reduction of network upgrade investments as it can run on servers of all well-known vendors and does not require proprietary hardware", says Sergey Svoysky, VP Operations of World-Link. "MVTS has significantly simplified network management chores. Now we have a single point for collection of statistical, accounting and other critical data. Equally important, MVTS provides advanced scalability opportunities to cater for our growth ambitions. I'm sure that by deploying the MVTS we've made just the right choice. I also would like to thank MERA's customer support team for their professional guidance and advice during our migration period."
"The MERA Softswitch is a globally-acknowledged solution that enables ITSPs to adopt a holistic approach to the management of their VoIP networks", comments Konstantin Nikashov, CEO of MERA Systems. "MVTS will allow World-Link to maintain a strong competitive edge in today's highly dynamic VoIP market. It always feels well to be able to contribute to our customers' success by offering them the best possible solutions and services."
