New MVTS v.2.1.8 Enhanced with Web-based Monitoring and Advanced Interoperability
April 27, 2004
MERA Systems, Inc. has released a new version of the MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch (MVTS). The MVTS v.2.1.8 enables the user to keep track of the key operation parameters over the Internet through a Web-based monitor application and enhances interoperability capacity of the system.
The new MVTS v.2.1.8 features are:
- Enhanced SIP-HIT module for protocol and codec translation, which enables the MVTS to bridge SIP and H.323 networks and equipment and perform signaling interworking between proprietary implementations of the H.323 standard.
- Extended compatibility for fault-proof IP-to-IP interconnection between customer-premises IP PBX’s and carriers’ networks. Currently the MVTS improves operational flexibility of solutions offered by Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks, BroadWorks and other vendors.
- Web Monitor: an add-on that is installed at the MVTS server; it enables peer carriers and their customers to keep track of relevant gateway and dial peer statistics and perform the basic route analysis. The carrier can customize the interface language and assign customer-specific access rights to the application.
