MERA Ñentrex: Added Value for Enterprise Customers

MERA VoIP CENTREX Softswitch demo (the Linux-based MERA Centrex) is now available for download at www.mera-systems.com/download/.
The MERA Centrex enables broadband Internet telephony services with advanced call management capabilities for a large number of enterprise and residential customers.
The MERA Centrex allows creation of a closed user group for each corporate customer, with a common numbering plan, customized routing table and a service package tailored to meet the client’s specific needs. The MERA Centrex permits integration of scattered branch offices into a single communication system whilst dramatically reducing LD and ILD costs. Thus a company saves the money and effort of buying and maintaining a legacy PBX and connects to the Service Provider’s for a hosted IP PBX, which ensures smooth and limitless scalability.
The current MERA Centrex operates under H.323 and supports the essential call management services, such as call forward (on busy / on no answer / unconditional), call transfer, call hold, fax transmission etc. The application features call detail records and RADUIS-based authorization and accounting capabilities. It interworks seamlessly with multivendor equipment, including Cisco (ATA186, AS5x00) and Samsung (SMG3200, SMG400).
The MERA Centrex is configured and managed from a user-friendly interface which provides three levels of access: for the Centrex operator (VoIP carrier), system administrator (enterprise customer) and the end user. Through the graphical interface, the administrator can build customized dial plans, add new subscribers, and modify gateway settings etc., whereas the user can flexibly configure his own endpoint.
Further development of the product will incorporate an extended range of value-added services: conferencing, voicemail, automated attendant, and call assistant. The primary focus will be on enhancing interoperability with multiple vendors’ equipment. Future MERA Centrex releases will be upgraded with SIP and codec conversion functionality (G.711, G.729).
