H.323 VoIP Equipment Gets Green Light For Use At The

Tario Communications and MERA have successfully completed the comprehensive technology compatibility test of MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch with the end of prospective deployment at "VoIP Exchange".
MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch (MVTS), the VoIP application developed by MERA, secures full interoperability of any H.323 equipment with the "VoIP Exchange" and greatly facilitates connection of equipment (it is especially topical in case of low-channel devices).
Being capable of collecting traffic from a multitude of petty VoIP devices of a variety of customers MVTS additionally features the ability to connect any number of subscribers with any quantity of lines to the "VoIP Exchange". In this way, the solution by MERA gives a great number of customers an opportunity to buy traffic at wholesale rates of the Russian VoIP market without the need to register at the "VoIP Exchange". Actual operation of the MVTS server registered at and connected to the "VoIP Exchange" can be done by a mediator company.
This solution by MERA NN affords new opportunities of business growth for:
- the local, LD and ILD telephony operators, offering card-paid VoIP services;
- the VoIP traffic carriers;

The "VoIP Exchange" is operated by the VoIP Exchange Company. The full-scale commercial operation of the "VoIP Exchange" sales facilities started in January 2003 after six-month-long trial period. There are over 600 registered operators at the "VoIP Exchange" currently, and the monthly volume of the terminated traffic has grown over 7 million minutes.
